about

"Just a Bit Further", Trinom3's second release, brings together the various music styles that have inspired the band throughout their formative years. Masters of progressive rock, jazz, r&b/pop and film scores, Mike Clinco, John Van Tongeren and Kendall Kay are most certainly the musically eclectic gentlemen.

Trinom3, guitarist Mike Clinco, organist John Van Tongeren and drummer Kendall Kay have been perfecting their sound over the last five years. Based in the Los Angeles area, the band frequently performs at various clubs across the city while writing and rehearsing new material. The group released their debut album Details are Sketchy in 2015. Here’s a list of credits the band members have amassed through the years. Mike Clinco (Bobby McFerrin, Don Menza, Ella Fitzgerald, Nelson Riddle, Henry Mancini, Burt Bacharach), John VanTongeren (Tony Williams, Jeff Beck, Hans Zimmer, Chicago, Quincy Jones, Patti Austin) and Kendall Kay (Alan Broadbent, Lee Konitz, Rod Stewart, Rickie Lee Jones, Kyle Eastwood, Jack Jones). John also has a successful film/tv composing career (www.johnvantongeren.net), and Mike has numerous composing credits as well (www.mikeclinco.com).

“Just a Bit Further”, Trinom3’s second release, brings together the various music styles that have inspired the band throughout their formative years. Masters of progressive rock, jazz, r&b/pop and film scores, Mike Clinco, John Van Tongeren and Kendall Kay are most certainly the musically eclectic gentlemen. Recorded primarily at Van Tongeren’s studio, The Blue Room, the album comprises ten originals and one cover. Mike, John, and Kendall have spent a lot of time playing together and the musical shorthand is obvious. The trio decided to expand the sound palate this time out and create a set of songs that exude not just their love of jazz, but a love for many different musical influences.

Just a Bit Further, represents a modern set filled with inventive writing and inspired performances showcasing the continuing spirit of the band whose love of music is undeniable.
